Music industry veteran executive Randy Lennox will be awarded the 2017 Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award for his longstanding commitment to Canadian Music. The Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award recognizes industry leaders who have vastly contributed to the growth and development of the Canadian music industry. Named after famed Canadian publisher and trailblazer Walt Grealis, this year’s award
will be presented to Lennox at the 46th Annual JUNO Gala Dinner & Awards presented by SOCAN on Saturday,
April 1, 2017 at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. With a career spanning more
than 30 years, Lennox has been a

CTV & The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) revealed electronic group "A Tribe Called Red", 2016 JUNO Award winner and singer-songwriter Alessia Cara, Contemporary Storyteller Ruth B & alternative folk indie group The Strumbellas are confirmed as Performers for CTV's Broadcast of THE 2017 JUNO AWARDS, April 2nd along with multi-platinum singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes, who is nominated for an impressive 5 JUNO AWARDS this year, including Album of the Year and Artist of the Year.
Canada's most exciting night in music airs live from CANADIAN TIRE CENTRE in Ottawa on CTV and CTV GO on Sunday, April 2nd.
2016 Award winning Breakthrough Artist of The Year, Alessia Cara, is nominated for 4 awards in 2017, including JUNO Fan Choice, Single of the Year, Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year, Tribe Called Red, Ruth B and the Strumbellas each nabbed 3 nominations. A 1st time nominee for JUNO Fan Choice, Breakthrough Artist of The Year And Songwriter of the Year, Ruth B will also take part in a special tribute to charity MusiCounts. The Strumbellas who won 2014 Juno Award for Roots and Traditional Album of the Year:GROUP, are nominated this year for JUNO Fan Choice Single of the Year and Group of the Year. Ottawa locals A Tribe Called Red, who won Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2014, received nominations today for Jack Richardson Producer of the Year, Electronic Album of the Year and Video of the Year.
