Canadian Folk-Pop artist, Geneviève Racette’s Golden (Deluxe) is now just a few weeks away, out January 30, 2026. The release revisits one of the most defining albums of her career with an enhanced perspective. Featuring newly recorded songs and stripped-back arrangements shaped by the past year of touring and reflection, the deluxe version of Golden creatively expands Geneviève's most personal body of work, allowing music to grow alongside her.
The focus track is a haunting re-imagining of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are,” which has been resonating strongly since we shared it in December, and offers a compelling entry point into the project.

Montreal, QC - January 13 2026 - Canadian Contemporary Folk-Pop artist, Geneviève Racette, has announced the release of the deluxe version of her Fourth studio album, Golden (Deluxe),
set for release on Friday, January 30 2026.
A meaningful continuation of her most healing body of work, Geneviève Racette’s Golden (Deluxe) finds the artist revisiting the emotional landscape that defined her 2024 album release, Golden, with clarity, evolution, and renewed strength. Originally written during a period of profound personal upheaval, Racette refers to Golden as a musical sanctuary, where she was able to transform her pain into purpose through intimate songwriting and meticulous production. The deluxe edition preserves the album’s core spirit while expanding its depth and narrative through newly recorded songs, alternate versions, and stripped-back arrangements that allow the material to evolve organically, just like the artist herself. Featuring four additional songs, Golden (Deluxe) is rooted in vulnerability and reflection, capturing the continuity of an artist allowing her work to grow alongside her own healing.
A bilingual artist who has successfully navigated both French and English-language markets, Racette’s decorated career includes a Canadian Folk Music Award for Emerging Artist of the Year, widespread praise from Rolling Stone, Exclaim!, CBC, SiriusXM, Women of Americana, and the Americana Music Association, and a celebrated duet with City and Colour’s Dallas Green which led to a performance with the Canadian icon at Canada’s largest music festival, Osheaga. With the release of Golden in October 2024, Racette’s career reached new heights with a #3 debut on the Folk Alliance International Chart, a major sync placement of “The Reasons (I’ll Be Alright)” in the long-running television series, Heartland, and her biggest international tour to date where she performed a seven-week run across Canada, the United States, and the UK.
An expansion of Golden’s introspective, emotional, and resilient roots, Golden (Deluxe) completes Racette’s storied era of healing and growth from a chapter that she considers one of the most formative of her life. The addition of four tracks, including an a cappella version of “Golden”, an acoustic take on “My Thoughts Of You”, and two new tracks, “Common Denominator” and a cover of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are”. Reflecting Golden’s original premise of evolution, the creation of Racette’s deluxe version musically personifies her transformation, allowing the project to expand musically as she does herself. “It meant so much to me to share the songs that helped me get through such a difficult time”, recalls Racette. “As an artist it’s so challenging to make an album and really feel as if it’s complete. Over time the four songs on the deluxe version came to me naturally, and I felt that adding them shares a more complete version of Golden, and therefore myself.”
On the focus track “Come As You Are,” Racette returns to a song that has quietly followed her throughout her life and career. First released in 2016, her initial Nirvana cover was recorded out of admiration for Kurt Cobain and Nirvana’s raw melodic instinct, a meaningful influence that shaped her relationship with music. Now, a decade later, Racette returns to the song with a new perspective, completely reimagining its arrangement for Golden (Deluxe). The dark, ethereal track was recorded with a harmonizer which added its haunting texture. Paired with a visually striking new video filmed around fire rather than cold rooftops, Racette’s reinterpretation offers a subtle wink to the past while reflecting how far she has come, allowing a familiar song to evolve alongside her.
Newly recorded track “Common Denominator,” written at the very end of the original Golden sessions, captures the slow realization that someone close, whether a friend or partner, may be the common thread in their recurring chaos. The deluxe edition revisits “My Thoughts Of You” in its most intimate form, returning the song to a stripped-back acoustic arrangement that contrasts its experimental original production and highlights Racette’s readiness to express her raw vulnerability. Completing the additions is a striking a cappella version of “Golden,” built entirely from layered vocals and rich harmonies, inviting listeners into the intricate textures of Racette’s vocal work and offering a lush, immersive, and connective experience.
With Golden (Deluxe), Geneviève Racette offers a thoughtful continuation of an album that reshaped her both personally and artistically. Rather than revisiting the past, the expanded release honours how both she and her songs have grown through time, distance, and the shared experience of performing them for audiences across borders. Diving deeper into vulnerability, clarity, and emotional honesty, Golden (Deluxe) stands as a testament to the power of allowing both art and oneself the space to evolve, capturing the growth of an artist who has moved from survival to steadiness while remaining deeply connected to the stories at the heart of her work.
