About "Ghost ":

An exploration of the emotional aftermath at the end of a relationship, Desiree Dorion’s “Ghost”, delves into the multitude of complexities associated with moving on and reclaiming one's strength. Capturing the feeling of wanting to escape lingering memories and the resolve to walk away, “Ghost” embodies the rollercoaster ride journey from sadness to independence in making the difficult, life altering decision to leave a relationship in the past. Beginning with the anthemic chorus of the song performed acapella, Dorion’s expressive lyrics and powerful vocal performance shine atop of a driving drumbeat and softly haunting atmospheric tapestry. The chorus features an unforgettable, pointed description of the desire to keep both the person and their past, in the past, and soars with Dorion’s powerful, dynamic delivery. Underlining her tremendous skill and versatility in transforming personal experience into relatable music, Dorion’s “Ghost” is an encouraging journey from frustration and grief to a renewed sense of self and determination. Setting the tone for her upcoming seventh studio album, Dorion skillfully introduces its theme of knowing when to walk away with “Ghost”, her first single of 2024.

"Ghost digs into the inner strength required to walk away from a relationship that no longer serves you and speaks to discovery of self." - Desiree Dorion
